- Adams County Justice Center
GROUND Engineering Consultants provided all geotechnical engineering, construction
materials testing and special inspection services for this project. The project
included the construction of a six level plus basement, steel structure with a
total area of over 98,000 square feet. The structure is founded on a large diameter
deep pier foundation system with a slab-on-grade in the below grade level. The building
exterior is enclosed with precast concrete panels.

- Buckley Air Force Base
GROUND has provided geotechnical engineering and construction materials testing
to support the construction of numerous projects at the Buckley Air Force Base in
Aurora, CO including the Army Aviation Support Facilty, Helicopter Maintenance Facility,
Engineering Complex, Wing Headquarters, Control Tower, Recreation Center, Airman’s
Dormitory, Hydrazine Building, Dining Hall Reconstruction and various infrastructure
projects. Construction observation and materials testing services support vertical
and horizontal construction including utilities, roadway construction, steel structures,

- Rocky Mountain Arsenal
GROUND Engineering provided a laboratory staff and equipment to conduct quality
control testing during the construction of the landfill liner system. In order to
meet the project schedule during construction of the clay liner the laboratory staff
totaled five qualified technicians plus a laboratory manager. Substantial testing
workloads were completed in an expeditious manner to avoid delays in construction
of the liner. The on-site laboratory staff maintained a vigorous Health and Safety
Plan that included air monitoring for dust and silica in addition to noise monitoring.

- Eagle County Justice Center
The Eagle County Justice Center Expansion consisted of the construction of multiple
single level building additions with a total additional footprint of approximately
27,000 SF and associated sitework. The foundation construction utilized an augered
cast-in-place pile and grade beam foundation system with a reinforced slab on grade.
The building consisted of CMU walls, structural steel framing and a steel joist
and metal deck roof system. GROUND provided geotechnical engineering involving subsurface
exploration to provide foundation and pavement recommendations. GROUND also provided
materials testing services that included soils, concrete, masonry, asphalt, drilled
cast in place auger pile observations, reinforcing steel observations, and asphalt
testing.

- Garfield County Justice Center
GROUND provided the geotechnical engineering and construction materials testing
for the Garfield County Justice Center Complex which included the construction of
three new buildings, improvements to several parking areas and the reconstruction
of 18th Street in Rifle, Colorado. The building foundations consist of spread footings
and grade beams with slabs on grade. Due to the elevated moisture contents and the
variability of the native materials, the existing soils beneath the buildings were
overexcavated and blended, then replaced to eliminate the cost of importing materials
while still providing the required bearing capacity.

- Granby Library
The Granby Library includes the construction of a $2.9 million dollar facility in
Granby, Colorado. The building consists of approximately 10,200 square feet of single
story construction. Spread footings and slab on grade were utilized for the foundation
system and the building construction consisted of CMU walls and steel framing. GROUND
provided geotechnical engineering and construction materials testing services throughout
the library construction.
