GROUND Engineering has a complete in-house weld inspection department with 6 full-time certified weld inspectors.

GROUND provides a broad range of structural steel testing, observation and inspection. We have a complete in-house staff of certified weld inspectors (CWI). GROUND’s structural steel department is led by two degreed welding engineers. Our in-house staff is experienced and familiar with the utilization of numerous testing codes and specifications including AWS D1.1, ASME B31.1-31.9, Uniform Building Code (UBC), International Building Code (IBC), RCSC for bolted connections, and AISC.

We provide a total construction observation and materials testing team able to work within the tightest of schedules. Our services include:

• Fabrication shop welding observation and testing; in-state and out-of-state
• Bolt testing (Skidmore Wilhelm Calibration)
• Field erection welding observation and testing
• Reinforcing steel and post tensioned tendon placement oversight
• Welder Certification
• Procedure Preparation

GROUND’s non-destructive testing (NDT) includes visual testing (VT), ultrasonic testing (UT), dye penetrant testing (PT), and magnetic particle testing (MT). We have teamed to provide radiographic testing (RT) if required by the project specifications.
