GROUND is utilizing a MALA RoadCart GPR unit, which is designed for high-speed road measurements. GROUND's RoadCart is equipped with two shielded antennas, 2.3GHz and 800MHz. The GPR relies on electromagnetic waves/electromagnetic energy reflection from the material/object beneath the antennas to obtain a trace, and multiple traces create a 2-D color image called a Scan.

Applications

  • Determining pavement/slab thickness on grade or suspended
  • Locating buried voids/cavities, underground storage tanks, sewers, foundations, ancient landfills, pipelines and cables.
  • Characterizing bedrock, ice, and internal structure of floors/walls
  • Examining the internal steelwork in concrete
  • Rebar and tension cable location and depth
  • Slab thickness on grade and suspended
  • Location of non-metallic and metallic conduits and other embedded non-structural features such as fiber networks, in-floor heating elements, and plumbing
  • Detection of voids and variation in the concrete matrix
  • Inspection of other reinforced concrete structures
  • Measure slab thickness
  • Measure bridge deck thickness
  • Void detection and location
  • Concrete inspection
  • Structure inspection
  • Bridge deck condition assessment
  • Condition assessment
  • Determining concrete cover depth of new structure
