GROUND is utilizing a MALA RoadCart GPR unit,
which is designed for high-speed road measurements. GROUND's RoadCart is equipped with two shielded antennas, 2.3GHz and 800MHz. The GPR relies on
electromagnetic waves/electromagnetic energy reflection from the material/object beneath the antennas to obtain a trace, and multiple traces create
a 2-D color image called a Scan.
Applications
- Determining pavement/slab thickness on grade or suspended
- Locating buried voids/cavities, underground storage tanks, sewers, foundations, ancient landfills, pipelines and cables.
- Characterizing bedrock, ice, and internal structure of floors/walls
- Examining the internal steelwork in concrete
- Rebar and tension cable location and depth
- Slab thickness on grade and suspended
- Location of non-metallic and metallic conduits and other embedded non-structural features such as fiber networks, in-floor heating elements, and plumbing
- Detection of voids and variation in the concrete matrix
- Inspection of other reinforced concrete structures
- Measure slab thickness
- Measure bridge deck thickness
- Void detection and location
- Concrete inspection
- Structure inspection
- Bridge deck condition assessment
- Condition assessment
- Determining concrete cover depth of new structure
